Exciting news!

Purple House is proud to announce that the Devlin family has given us permission to reissue Old Black Witch! and Cranberry Thanksgiving.

Many of you will remember the blueberry pancake witch, well she is making a reappearance this year! When Nicky and his mom buy an old New England house to turn into a tearoom, they are startled to find they must share the house with its resident troublemaker, Old Black Witch. "Boo! Scat, and Ratcha Frat!" Old Black Witch calls out to all the tearoom visitors. Zooming about on her dilapidated broom, she manages to stir up plenty of fuss and excitement. Her blueberry pancake recipe is at the end of the book!

A sweet treat for Thanksgiving: Grandmother certainly didn't want to ask Mr. Whiskers for Thanksgiving dinner! She was very angry when Maggie asked him. She was even more angry when SOMEONE stole her favorite, secret recipe for cranberry bread! Was Mr. Whiskers the thief? Find out when you read the book, secret recipe included!

Hi there,

Is there anyway to preorder? I'd love to have a copy of Cranberry Thanksgiving by *Canadian* Thanksgiving (early Oct.). Do you think this may be possible?

Thanks so much :)

Welcome news! Do you know if the "Old Black Witch" will be the version w/ all full-color pages (per the Aladdin edition from the 1990s) or with alternating color and black-and-white pages (per the original edition)? Many thanks for all these great books, Jill!

I am so excited! I loved these books when I was a kid, and my copy of Old Black Witch from the 1960's is falling apart. I found your re-issue of Miss Suzy when we were travelling, and immediately bought it. I would love to see The Cookie Tree, also from Parents Magazine Press, I think, by Jay Williams. Keep up the good work!

These books are available for preorder now from www.purplehousepress.com/future.htm . They will start shipping by Sept 15th.

Yes we did use the full color version which Simon & Schuster did in the 1990s.

Thanks for recommending The Cookie Tree, other people have asked for it too. I'll have to locate a copy so I can read it! The old Parents Magazine Press books have been some of our best sellers.
